Very Good
GGuest UserGreat location and perfect for travelling to the airport which is 5min walk away. Breakfast starts 4am so early flyers are well covered too.
Dinner menu could improve further but generally okay
CCookieFDWe stayed at Wilde just before New Year and we were not disappointed. The location is fantastic. Just behind the castle and around the corner from Grassmarket. The staff were fantastic, from the minute we arrived till the minute we checked out. Nothing is an issue to them. The apartment was both modern and well equipped. I would definitely return, but would get a room on the 1st floor. As the lower rooms you can hear people above moving furniture etc. Not the company's fault, just inconsiderate guests that you can't choose!
Nnigel ashleyIt is the hall of residence of the university. So the rooms are basic but acceptable. T v didn't work. The hot water didn't work until the second day. Using the washing drying facilities is a nightmare. Would we stay again. Unlikely.
YYunduanderizi21A very traditional, elegant, ancient and solemn hotel, the overall feeling is very good!
The location is very convenient. After exiting the Waverley train station, you can reach the hotel in less than 5 minutes on foot. The entrance is very eye-catching. It's just a big uphill walk, and it will be a bit strenuous if you push a large piece of luggage. It only takes 20 minutes to walk from the hotel to the castle.
The hotel lobby is very traditional, and the characteristic bonfire hall seems to have entered Santa Claus's home. The lady at the front desk is very enthusiastic and introduced the various facilities in the room in detail. Because Scotland is still quite cold, I didn't feel it when I turned on the heating in the room to the maximum. In the morning, a traditional English breakfast on the first floor of the hotel is absolutely amazing. There is a western restaurant with candlelight dinner next to the hotel, where you can enjoy a sweet world for two! 😍😍
GGuest UserAbsolutely fantastic hotel. I've been going to Edinburgh for well over 30 years and stayed on this occasion for my 50th. I could not have picked a nicer place. Friendly family ran hotel, nothing too much trouble. Our room was just perfect. Huge room a very comfy bed and modern bathroom. The location is perfect, being right by Haymarket Train Station and the tram system. Believe me, I've stayed right in the centre and down Leith end but this location is perfect, close to the main centre but quiet enough of a night. Keep up the fabulous work, I'll be back.
SSACHOWIt’s a boutique hotel. Location is excellent. You can get anything you need, eat everything you want and access to sighting spots, and transports easily. Room was restaurant are beautiful. Breakfast is also very good and sufficient.
MMs. BarletAmazing overall. Only thing that can better are: noise level within the corridors of the room floor. The room wall is so thin that you could hear all noises. The water pressure of the shower is pathetically low. I was given a room with a view (view to the roof that is, see photo) 😅.
Anyway the whole location and friendly staff made up for what’s missing.
GGuest UserThe room was very nice, it was clean, spacious. The bathroom is also good. They gave amenties even extra with asking and with the price it was a great hotel. The guy on the reception was very friendly. I would always choose this hotel again.
Yyu big canThe hotel room is very big, very clean, and the facilities are very complete. The bathroom is the best. The location of the hotel is okay, but there is only a two-in-one washing machine, and the drying part cannot be used. There is only laundry, but there are drying racks. It's more economical for four people to live.
GGuest UserThe room was much better than expected, clean and comfortable. Self-service check-in and check-out were quick and convenient. If you don't know how to use it, you can call and ask for patient guidance. If you don't know how to use the access control, you can ask the staff. The location is far from the city center and various attractions, about 30 minutes walk, but you can take the bus.
In summary, it is still a good choice. After all, hotels in Edinburgh are crazy expensive. I will stay in this hotel again.
