It was good just for the position, close to the subway.
The room was super small and old, so don't trust to the pictures on Trip! The bed was hard and uncomfortable to sleep and we woke up every morning with backache.
We changed two different rooms ( both with mold and bad smell) because we had problem with shower, almost flooded in the bedroom! And the staff was rude and not able to help you. We asked several questions and they didn't even try to talk with you by Google translate. The fridge into the room is not provided (unacceptable in Summer season!), and they don't even provide laundry service.

If you're looking for a budget-friendly place with an excellent location, Dongsi Hotel is a decent option. The biggest advantage is its proximity to Wangfujing and easy access to public transport, making sightseeing in Beijing very convenient.
However, the hotel itself is very basic. Rooms and amenities are minimal, and the cleanliness could definitely be improved (3/5). Don't expect luxury or extra comfort, but if location is your top priority and you just need a place to sleep, it serves the purpose.
